U.S. troops in Afghanistan hold memorial to mark 9/11 anniversary
Coalition forces in Kabul, Afghanistan, honored those lost on Sept. 11, 2001 with their own memorial Sunday. U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Ryan Crocker said the tragic events on 9/11 forever linked the two countries. "Afghan soil must never again be used by elements who would use terror to attack the people of America, Afghanistan or the international community," he said. The U.S. invaded Afghanistan one month after 9/11. All U.S. combat forces are due to leave the country by the end of 2014.
Names of 9/11 attack victims ring out at WTC site
All over the USA today people have been doing things in honor of September 11, 2001 for the victims of the terrorist attacks. It’s so sad to see people hurting over losing their loved ones. I’ve been watching the news and see all this pain. I hate it so much and have said a prayer for all those who are still suffering. I know that no one will ever forget this terrible day but I sure hope it gets easier for everyone. Some people are being positive and saying things like: “This has made all of us stronger, The US is still standing and we always will.” I’m glad that positive things are coming from this event and hope that it continues. This is a sad day!
