Gay Marriage
Gay marriage amendment approved by NC House committee
A divided North Carolina House committee has sent to the floor a proposed constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage if voters statewide agree next spring. Three-fifths of the House members must vote yes twice on the measure before it can move on to the Senate. The Republican chairman of the committee didn't allow any public comment from the audience about the bill. House Democratic leader Joe Hackney said the question was being rushed through and its contents could have long-term unintended consequences
This is crazy to me. I believe that the committee should leave this alone. It’s already a state law same sex marriage is illegal, so why push this any further. God gives us all a choice in life and we are all free to choose that life on our own. So why can’t we as human beings do the same thing and let people do what they want to do. The constitution states that we have the right to be whom and what we want. I think this is stupid. There are more important things that I think the state committee should be thinking about and that’s getting jobs back in North Carolina. I need a job; I don’t care one hill of beans about people getting married that are the same sex. Making that new constitution to keep marriage between a man and a woman, taking away our rights, isn’t getting food on my table nor is it getting my bills paid. There are way too many other issues that have more importance that the committee of North Carolina needs to attend too. This is petty and should be left alone. I’ll vote against it!

Remembering
Flags to fly at half-staff statewide in honor of 9/11
Flags across North Carolina are flying at half-staff on Sunday in honor of the 9/11 anniversary. Last week Gov. Bev Perdue ordered that all flags at state facilities be lowered in recognition of Patriot Day. The flags are going to be raised again on Monday.
U.S. troops in Afghanistan hold memorial to mark 9/11 anniversary
Coalition forces in Kabul, Afghanistan, honored those lost on Sept. 11, 2001 with their own memorial Sunday. U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Ryan Crocker said the tragic events on 9/11 forever linked the two countries. "Afghan soil must never again be used by elements who would use terror to attack the people of America, Afghanistan or the international community," he said. The U.S. invaded Afghanistan one month after 9/11. All U.S. combat forces are due to leave the country by the end of 2014.
Names of 9/11 attack victims ring out at WTC site
All over the USA today people have been doing things in honor of September 11, 2001 for the victims of the terrorist attacks. It’s so sad to see people hurting over losing their loved ones. I’ve been watching the news and see all this pain. I hate it so much and have said a prayer for all those who are still suffering. I know that no one will ever forget this terrible day but I sure hope it gets easier for everyone. Some people are being positive and saying things like: “This has made all of us stronger, The US is still standing and we always will.” I’m glad that positive things are coming from this event and hope that it continues. This is a sad day!

Motorcycles
Three Seriously Injured After Motorcycles Crash in Greensboro
A crash involving three motorcycles occurred on highway 29 southbound in Greensboro on Thursday night September the 8t, 2011. Three men were riding their motorcycles Thursday evening on the highway when one lost control of his bike and took down the other two bikes hitting the pavement dangerous hard. These men are in Moses Cone Hospital with life threatening conditions.
When I first started reading this article I thought it was going to be about someone not paying attention in a car or truck that had pulled out in front of or had came over into the lane, where the motorcycles are, causing them to crash. Usually this is the case when others aren’t paying attention and they don’t see the people on the motorcycles. I’ve told a lot of people to watch out for motorcycles and look twice before pulling your car out onto the main roads. Motorcycles can be hard to see especially when it’s a small bike. But we need to be careful when driving and pay closer attention so that we don’t have wrecks.
This article shocks me because it doesn’t seem to be among the most common motorcycle accidents that happen. I know that I’ve seen motorcyclist try to share the same lane together before but usually there are only two motorcyclist that will do this. I can’t help but wonder if these three motorcyclists were trying to share the same lane because it seems that they had to be fairly close together if one took down the other two. If this is the case, it was really dumb on their part. Motorcycles aren’t supposed to share a lane at all. They are supposed to be like a car or truck and get behind one another on the road. I just hope that these three guys are going to be okay. If people would just obey the laws maybe we wouldn’t have so many wrecks and deaths due to accidents in motor-vehicles. Laws are set to protect us not restrict of or take away our rights.

Will you believe?
Raleigh woman says GPS led her onto railroad
A thirty-five year old Cary County resident abandoned their car on a railroad track after it stalled there claiming that their GPS led them there. The police was able to get the train, that was scheduled to go through there, to stop before hitting the car. The resident was charged with driving while impaired and was ordered to surrender their driver’s licenses, for thirty days, when they refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Here is something else that sounds really stupid to me. This is a good example of how people don’t want to take responsibility for their own actions. This I have to laugh at because it’s one of the dumbest excuses that I’ve ever heard given to cover up what they didn’t want to own up too. It even beats any excuses that I ever tried to use on my parents while growing up and didn’t know better. What gets me the most about excuses is that people actually think that the person, that they are trying to give the excuse too, is stupid enough to believe such bull. It really insults me to be given a really stupid excuse or one at all. Just tell the truth and avoid the humiliation that you are going to get when telling a lie.
It’s not hard to open your mouth and say, “I was drunk and I went out driving when I know I wasn’t suppose too because I was drinking and it’s against the law to drink and drive. My car stalled on the railroad tracks and I got busted.” This person is real lucky that they didn’t get into a wreck and kill someone. That would’ve been worse than just getting arrested and losing your license for thirty days. Not only would you go to jail for a very long time but you would have killing a person on your conscious simply because of your lack of knowledge about the law and how drinking and driving isn’t a good mixture.

Soughting sex
Deputies: High Point Man Sought Sex with 15-Year-Old
A High Point man has been arrested for soughting out a 15 year old girl to have unlawful sex with a minor. He was arrested in Thomasville and put in the Davidson County Jail under a $65,000 thousand dollar bond. He has been charged with solicitation of a child to commit an unlawful sex act and two counts of indecent liberties with a minor.
OMG! Is this real? What is wrong with a man that he has to think that he needs to have sex with a child? There's not a lot of information on this event in the news to say weather this man knew the girl was 15 years old or not. But he probably did. This day and age the men wants younger and younger women. This is probably a case of an online chat communication and the news isn't reporting it. You don't know who you are talking to when it's online.
This is sick though. If I had a daughter 15 years old and I read about this in the news; it would probably make a bigger impact on me. But since I don't have a daughter at any age I can still say that its wrong for someone to even think about having sex with a child. It's gross and it's against the law. What can a child do for a grown man? What can a grown man see in a child? I don't understand the perverts today. Hey dude go get a woman your own age and let the children be children and grow up.

Drowning
Man Drowns at High Rock Lake Swimming Hole
A 21 year old man drown in a High Rock Lake popular swimming area. Pebble Beach has warning signs stating that there isn't a life guard in several different places across the area and there are demark lines marking the swimming area that you can't go any further in the water. The young man was swimming with his family when he went under. A deputy jumped in and tried to find the 21 year old man but the unkempt water limited his ability to recover him. The young man's family stated that he was a good swimmer and don't know why this happen. The brother of the young man that drown got so upset that he hit a deputy and he was charged with assaulting a police officer.
There has been a lot of people drowning at Pebble Beach in my life time so far. I don't understand why people don't think that they could actually drawn. I guess they think just because they can swim that it's all good. "Sure I can swim over my head for an hour." Yea right! People shouldn't try to do things that challenges their abilities when it evolves things over their heads.
Drowning is one of my biggest fears of ways to die. You can't breath and that's scarey. My aunt died from COPD. I'd watch her struggle to get her breathe and that was scarey to observe. I loved her very much but she kept on smoking and that lessened her ability to breath even more. Once when I was growing up; I swam across a part of the lake that dripped inland that went well over my head. I got really tired and wanted to stop but I knew if I did what would happened and that made me keep going. I was afraid to go back across but I had too. I've never done that again. I know that it could happen to me and I'm not ready to die, especially that way.

Gene Simmons is getting married
Gene Simmons of Kiss to wed longtime girlfriend
The 62 year old Gene Simmons, a member of the metal music group "KISS," is marring his girlfriend of 28 years former Playmate Shannon Tweed. The couple has two children together, Nick and Sophie, who are grown up now. The wedding is set to be on October 1, 2011 in Los Angeles and will be traditional with a twist. Gene proposed to Shannon in Belize where the cameras filmed it for their reality TV show, "Gene Simmons: Family Jewels."
I am really shock to see this and it's about time. I love the the band "KISS," and always have. It's the first concert that I've ever since. I also got to see Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley (lead singer of KISS) in a limo the day of the concert. They rolled their window and gave us a peace sign with their hands. It was awesome! I use to have all their tapes and posters of them on my walls as a teenager.
When I found out about the reality show that he and his girlfriend was hosting, I started to watch it. I felt like I got to know Gene better and of course his family. I didn't know that he had a girlfriend of that many years, nor did I know he had children. There's not a lot of rock stars that has the same girlfriend for any amount of years let alone 28 years. I'm proud of him and her for staying with him through all the concerts, traveling and all the screaming women fans that has thrown their underwear and their bodies at him.
I'm glad though that they have decided to get married. Some people say, "Why get married now, you've been together so long?" But I say, "Go for it!" I'm not too crazy about marriage but I think they have really earned it. I hope they have many more years together. They both seem to really love each other and get a lone really well for a couple of that many years. I think they make a great couple and I hope to see more of them on television. Rock on Gene and Shannon!
Nursing Home Killer
Nursing Home Shooter Convicted in Deaths of 8
A 47 year old man named Robert Stewart walked into a nursing home looking for his ex-wife with shotguns in his hands. As he was looking for her, he started shooting at random the residents that lived there and one nurse who worked their. Stewart was convicted of second-degree murder. His defense lawyers claimed that he suffers from depression, border-line personality disorder, and a sleep disorder. Stewart was taking an excessive amount of Ambien. With the second-degree murder conviction, Stewart will spend 128 to 160 years in prison, but he plans to appeal this decision.
This makes me sick to my stomach. I can't believe that he gets off the death penalty because he is depressed and taking a lot of sleep medication. What does that say to others? He gets upset because his wife leaves him and goes out killing incident people. I don't understand this at all. If I went out and killed people every time I was upset about an ex or something else then I'd be a cereal killer.
I think they should bring back the chain gang in prisons. I know it was rough but it was tough enough to teach some people lessons. Take a person and put them in prison on the chain-gang, make them work so hard that puts places on your hands that they won't soon forget and see if they want to stay or come back. I think it makes since. Prison is too easy. I know the guys or girls get in prison and fight or have gangs or whatever. But take away their time to do all this other stuff, put them to doing something that they don't like doing.
The law is all wrong too. The law is what let these guys get off so easy. Stewart got off the death penalty with his defense lawyers agruing that he lacked the premeditation and deliberation necessary for a first-degree conviction. So now he gets to live out his days in prison, not paying for nothing with three meals a day, a roof over his head, a bed to sleep on, heat for the winter, and air conditioning for the summer. He gets to talk to others, watch television, play games, and go outside on the pretty days of spring, summer, and fall. What does his victims and their families get? Between the law, lawyers, and prisons people will keep killing and doing wrong. It's wrong and something should changed.
Not on this plane
Green Day singer ejected from flight over pants
The lead singer of the alternative group "Green Day," Billie Joe Armstrong, was asked to leave an airline flight because of the way he was wearing his pants. A flight attentant ask Billie to pull up his pants and when he replied with, "Shouldn't you be worried about other things," he was asked to leave the plane. Billie elected to take the next flight after being apoloized to by someone who works for Southwest Airlines.
This is too funny. I hate the way these kids and some older people (Billie Joe Armstrong) are wearing their pants down around their knees. It isn't attractive at all. I really am not interested in what color or what kind of underwear they are wearing. It's not good to have to look at, nor is it dress appropriate. I hope they don't wear their pants like that when they are going to an interview.
Even though I don't like to see someone wearing their pants around their knees and showing off their underwear, I know I can't change it. I have to accept it but I don't have to look at it. I wouldn't go up to someone I don't know and tell them to pull up their pants. There's a lot of different things that I don't like and if I went around telling everyone what I don't like about them then I wouldn't have any friends.
This flight attendant shouldn't have opened her mouth about what this guy was wearing or how he was wearing it. That's not something that has to be checked by the airlines to ride safety in a plane. What could had happened with this guy wearing his pants down around his knees to harm anyone else or to put the flight in any kind of danger? I think this flight attendant was being bias and she should check her opinions at the door of her home before going to work. Fly with safety not with opinions flying out of ones mouth about what you look like to them, who cares?
