Juvenile Curfew
Philadelphia's juvenile curfew is extended through Labor Day
I am amazed about this curfew that has been set in Philadelphia for the children. The mayor has extended the curfew for young juvenile's until Labor Day. When school starts then the stricter curfew rules go back into effect; which are children under 13 has to be in doors at 10 p.m. and the children over 13 but under 18 has to be indoors at midnight.
The article goes on the talk about the violations that took place the first Friday and Saturday night. It also talks about people being attacked from some of the children ages 11, 16, 17,and 19. The article tells what the cost of the first violators, which is one to three hundred dollars and the repeaters, which is five hundred dollars with some jail time for parents. Also the curfew is only good for some places set my the mayor.
I want to say, why aren't the parents not taking control of their own children? Where are the parents of these children and why are they acting like this? When I was growing up parents were in control of their children and there wasn't any kind of violence like this from children. My mom and dad would've beat me and grounded me for years for doing some of the things these children are being accused of. My parents were the ones setting my curfew. This is an evolution that shouldn't have ever started.
My understanding that social services are something that the parents are afraid of when it comes to disciplining their children. My parents disciplined me and I don't hate them for it nor were they afraid of social services taking me away from them. Parents need to get educated about what child abuse really is and then discipline their children accordingly. Parents need to take control of their own children once again and stop letting the authorities make the rules.
